CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY

by Min. Dorothy Powell

Colossians 1:27

For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing this glory.

What glorious grace and mercy the Father foreordained before the foundation of the world that He would not only save His people the Jews, but that he included us in His plan (the Gentiles), "Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." (1 Peter 2:10).

The light of the glorious Gospel shines through us who received Jesus Christ in our lives as Savior and Lord. We are not our own; we have been brought with a price. We have been delivered out of the Kingdom of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of God's Son who purchased mankind's freedom and forgave all our sins. We should be the most joyous people on the earth knowing that we are no longer bound to sin. We no longer love darkness. God has enabled us to share in the inheritance that only belongs to His people who live in the light. We now share in Jesus Christ's glory. Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is manifest to his saints (Colossians 1:26). God never planned to live in a building made by man, but to live inside the born again spirit of man. Christ came into the world to show us the invisible Father and to live inside of us so it's no longer I, but Christ in me the hope of glory.

Whenever the Holy Spirit gives us revelation knowledge or a word of wisdom to speak to someone, this is Christ in us the Hope of Glory. With Christ "in us," we have hidden in Him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that's accessible to us as he reveals it, even while on the earth so that we can manifest as the sons of God. Therefore, as his people we should "Let our roots grow down into him, and let your (our) lives be built on him. Then your (our) faith will grow strong in the truth you (we) were taught, and you (we) will overflow with thankfulness." (Colossians 2:7 NLT). Oh, the riches of God's grace and glory as we abide in Him.

We should value the Bible, the love letter the Father has given us so that we can share the gospel with others.

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ, And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him...(2 Corinthians 5:18).

Christ in us the hope of glory who gives us the grace to let our light shine before men so that they can see visible representatives of God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. The godly character that's revealed in our lives shows that it's Christ Jesus in us the hope of glory.
